Every Monday night starting at 6:30 pm, the cafe proudly hosts an open-mic event that draws performers from all walks of life – musicians, poets, and even standup comics! It’s the perfect place to let your inner hipster shine!

During the day, The Bean is also an ideal spot for remote workers and college students who are looking for a place to study and work while enjoying some delicious coffee. There are plenty of large tables with outlets nearby, making it easy to stay connected and productive.

Casual Cafe Atmosphere

At “the Bean”, guests are welcomed with a casual cafe atmosphere that is perfect for all ages. The warm and inviting environment is enhanced by the witty bumper sticker near the register reading “FRIENDS DON’T LET FRIENDS DRINK STARBUCKS”. Customers can sit on the outdoor patio or sidewalk tables during the warmer months to enjoy an alfresco experience. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the cafe was also host to live music events on Friday and Saturday nights. With its hours of 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., everyone can find something to do at “the Bean”.

Abraham Lincoln Exhibit

The Abraham Lincoln Exhibit on the upper floor of the museum is an impressive sight, being the largest museum space dedicated to the life of the nation’s arguably greatest president in the state of Michigan. With a detailed family tree and other artifacts, it is sure to leave visitors in awe. On the lower level, a timeline of Plymouth takes viewers through various decades, including a rare car from a defunct car company called Alter. The entrance to the museum can be found on the right side of the building, facing the police station and library. Admission to the museum is only $7, making it easily accessible for all. Hours of operation are 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. W, F-S, closed Su, M-T, and Th. The Ebenezer, the underground speakeasy located nearby, offers a unique fusion of two eras, blending the vibe of the roaring 20s and the modern-day 2020s. It is the perfect spot to enjoy a Hemingway or explore the many great bars located throughout downtown Plymouth.

Nine Framed Reproductions Available for Public View

The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) is proud to announce that nine framed reproductions of some of the best art pieces in the museum have been made available for public view! From April or May 2023, the Plymouth Downtown Development Authority has posted these reproductions for all to admire. It’s an exciting chance to find and observe these works of art and it’s sure to be a thrilling experience that will leave lasting memories.

With the lovely Main Street, Ann Arbor Trail, and Penniman streets to explore, there is plenty of opportunity to take in the local scenery. Free Little Art Gallery DTP

The Free Little Art Gallery DTP is located across from the Plymouth Coffee Bean and consists of a mailbox-like structure filled with small square-shaped illustrations from local artists. This community outreach project allows art admirers to view the art for free and even encourages other artists to submit their works for consideration. With this attraction taking no more than a minute of one’s time, it is certainly worth visiting and showing support for the art.
